With the collaboration of our partners Sono and Empty, Noe Group participated in the construction of four pavilions in the Shanghai World Expo, held from May to October of 2010. With more than 70 million visitors, the exhibition had the biggest public attendance in history.

Noe Group’s team gathered more than 250 people who were working for months to build the pavilions of Spain, Barcelona and Madrid, with some of the best creative proposals in the Expo, and also the Turkish city of Izmir and, partially, the Russian pavilion.

In the Pavilion of Spain, designed by the famous Benedetta Tagliabue, we built stands for filmmakers like Bigas Luna and Martín Patino. These were all challenges were Noe Group could test the skills of its crew.

The Barcelona Pavilion, designed by the renowned architect and interior designer Dani Freixes, featured several prominent constructions like the hall made out of mirrors or the imposing giant kaleidoscope, which became a virtual screen where people could admire the different faces of Barcelona.

Madrid’s hall was also a great achievement. This project emerged from a competition of young Spanish architects convened by the city. All were projects where experience and creativity were very important factors.
